Emily Irene VanCamp, who initially wanted to become a professional dancer, grew interested in the acting field after visiting her sibling Katie on The Ladies Room set. Alongside learning to act she was also offered a guest spot on a TV show in Canada. A few of the television shows that she appeared in were Do You fearful of Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp achieved a major significant breakthrough in his career following being cast in Glory Days, the WB mystery horror show. It was cancelled after nine episodes, despite glowing reviews and poor ratings. The May 12th, 1986 actress immediately secured a new role in Everwood. The character she plays Amy Abbott is one of the major characters. Her role in the film was rewarded with four Teen Choice Awards nominations and the Young Artist Award.
