Mahendru's parents were Russian and Hindu Indian. She was born in Afghanistan. She speaks fluently German Russian English. Annet Mahendru is the daughter of an Indian father as well as mother of a Russian mom. When she was 11, she choreographed a performance that gained her an appearance on German television as a beautiful Russian snow maiden who transforms into a lively Indian dancer. The girl graduated high school at the age of 11 in New York before earning a Bachelor of Arts (English) at St. John's University. The classes she took in acting were in the HB Studios, but then left to pursue improvisational comedy at The Groundlings School.
